WH Cabernet Franc, 2021

The density of our 2021 Cabernet Franc asserts itself from the start. It exhibits a consistent medium ruby color with substantial tears moving down the glass. Profuse aromas of succulent blackberry, dusty rose, sweet cigar box, and sage leaf pop from the glass with hints of orange zest and cocoa powder, creating a layered complexity that is quintessentially Cabernet Franc. Tangy, juicy acids hit the palate with abandon, paving the way for unctuous red fruit flavors like fresh raspberry, cranberry, and strawberry. A savory balance of herb, a touch of earth and moist soil, and fruit sets the stage for nuanced notes of white pepper and violet on the finish, immediately revealing the complex sensory experience you would expect from this varietal. Lush and mouthcoating with fine-grained tannins that cradle the heft and structure, this is a very Loire-like Franc.
