Tasting notes
Our Riveter Rosé is like the inner workings of a fraught, embattled youthful brain made manifest in salmon pink magnificence, which will have you exclaiming, “you’re really pretty… so you agree, you think you’re really pretty”. Part of the appeal of Riveter lies in its purity, similar to the naïveté of the protagonist of Mean Girls, Cady Heron, where both exhibit a charisma of a complex inner life that shines through. While a rosé, it is treated with sensitivity and nuance, just like the psychological warfare experience of a teenage girl portrayed in the film. This totally fetch wine is made using the saignée method of rosé winemaking which involves bleeding off a portion of red wine juice after it’s been in contact with the skins, intensifying the flavor profile, where you will declare your love for this wine as “the limit does not exist.” The nose is redolent with caramelized green apples, sour cherry Jolly Rancher, and candied orange zest. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are whole-cluster pressed, contributing to a bracing mouthwatering acidity and a pristine finish. Ditch the burn book, as this rosé shows enough spicy heat and ample heft as it opens, making it the best candidate for summer patio pounder (or bridging the differences at the holidays), because on Wednesdays – or any day – we drink pink.
